Teams Meetings Help

• Turn your camera on or off by clicking the camera icon in the top menu bar. 
• To change your camera, click the down arrow next to the camera icon and select a different camera. 

   

• Turn your microphone on or off by clicking the microphone icon in the top menu bar.
• To change your microphone or speakers, click the down arrow next to the microphone icon and select a different mic or speaker. 

   

1. To show captions, click on the More icon on the top menu bar.
2. Select Language and Speech.
3. Select Turn on live captions. 

    

Note: This is a speech to text feature, not a translation feature. Changing the language sets the language that everyone is speaking. Captions only capture what is said. They do not translate.

1. To chat with meeting participants, click on the Chat icon in the top menu bar. The side panel for chat will open. 
2. Type into the side panel.
3. Hit Enter on your keyboard or click the send icon (paper airplane) to send/post your message in the chat. 
    

    

• To raise your hand in a meeting, click the Raise icon in the top menu bar.
• To react to information being discussed, click the React icon in the top menu bar and select your reaction. 
  
   

Note: This feature only works if there is a meeting participant assigned in Teams as an interpreter for the meeting. This is NOT an automatic translation feature.

When joining a meeting with interpretation

1. Click Choose Interpretation language. 

    

2. Click the dropdown to choose the language to Listen to the meeting in. 

    

3. Use the slider to Balance volume to adjust the meeting audio for More original audio and/or More interpretation audio. 

    

4. Click Confirm. 

    

During a meeting

1. Click ... More at the top. 

    

2. Click Language and speech. 

    

3. Click Interpretation language. 

    

4. Click the dropdown to choose the language to Listen to the meeting in. 

    

5. Use the slider to Balance volume to adjust the meeting audio for More original audio and/or More interpretation audio. 

    

6. Click Confirm.

When joining a meeting with interpretation

1. Open Notifications dropdown. 

    

2. Tap Choose language. 

    

3. Tap to Choose interpretation language from the list. 

    

A notification will confirm the selected interpretation language. 

During a meeting

1. Tap more menu icon (appears as ...). 

    

2. Tap Language settings. 

    

3. Tap Listen to the meeting in. 

    

4. Select the language to Listen to the meeting in from the list. 

    

A notification will confirm the selected interpretation language.
